Jordan: concrete support for the first local catholic university

At the end of 2014, at the initiative of the Secretariat of State of the Holy See, an ad hoc commission was set up to ensure the development of the American University of Madaba, the first Catholic university in Jordan.

Pope Ratzinger, on May 9, 2009, during his pilgrimage to the Holy Land, had blessed the first stone of this structure. 

The university was strongly supported by the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, always linked to a long educational tradition in Jordan.

Thanks to the donations received from Peter’s Pence, the University's teaching activities can be supported and improved for the next few years.
