THE PURPOSE OF THE OFFERING TODAY

To support the Holy Father’s mission, which extends throughout the world. It includes the proclamation of the Gospel, the promotion of integral human development, education, peace, and brotherhood among peoples - thanks also to the many service activities carried out by the dicasteries, agencies, and organizations of the Holy See that assist him daily*.

To contribute to the Holy Father’s charitable initiatives in support of individuals and families in need, populations affected by natural disasters or wars, or those requiring humanitarian aid or development assistance.

With your gift, you can open your eyes and heart to see the Church, which walks alongside families and peoples as they journey along the path of the Gospel and human development, in every corner of the earth.

WITH YOUR DONATION, YOU CAN SUPPORT THE POPE

"Together, we must look for ways to be a missionary Church, a Church that builds bridges and encourages dialogue, a Church ever open to welcoming, like this Square with its open arms, all those who are in need of our charity, our presence, our readiness to dialogue and our love."

Pope Leo

* Thanks in part to the support provided by donations to St. Peter’s Pence, the offices of the Roman Curia work daily in a spirit of service, communion, and support for the Pope’s mission:

“To make possible and effective the pastoral mission of the Roman Pontiff received from Christ the Lord and Shepherd, in his concern for the entire Church (cf. Jn 21:51ff), and to maintain and foster the relationship between the Petrine ministry and the ministry of all bishops, the Pope, ‘in the exercise of his supreme, full, and immediate power over the entire Church, makes use of the Dicasteries of the Roman Curia, which therefore carry out their work in his name and under his authority, for the benefit of the Churches and in the service of the sacred pastors”

(Praedicate Evangelium: Principles and Criteria for the Service of the Roman Curia).
